The Origin
From Vintém, Santa Rita do Sapucaí in Minas Gerais, this lot comes from Maria Christina’s farm, where the Catuaí cultivar thrives in Brazil’s rolling hills. The terroir produces coffees with heavier body and rustic sweetness, ideal for espresso blends.
The Process
This lot is dry‑processed (natural) and mechanically dried, a method that enhances body and bittersweet depth. The beans are packaged in GrainPro liners to preserve freshness and integrity.
The Cup
Expect dark cocoa, molasses, peanut cookie notes, rustic leather, and applewood smoke. In milk, the bittersweetness cuts through beautifully, while espresso shots deliver velvety texture and long finishes of dark chocolate and smoke.
(“Espresso shots are intensely bittersweet, tangy up front, with velvety texture leading to a long finish of dark chocolate, cocoa nibs, and apple wood smoke.”)
The Story
At Dos Foxes, we source farm gate lots that showcase Brazil’s strength in body and balance. Santa Maria do Vintém is part of our lineup for those who love classic espresso character with rustic charm.
