The Origin

Smallholders in Gichugu deliver cherry to the Karani washing station, high enough up (5,577–5,900 ft) that the cool air does half the work.

The Process

Washed clean, dried slow on raised beds. Peaberries form when only one seed grows instead of two — rarer, denser, more concentrated.

The Cup

Dark caramel and baking spice up front. As it cools: orange peel, blackberry, dried tamarind, a hibiscus tang that keeps it honest. The finish holds onto clove and nutmeg longer than you'd expect.

The Story

Founder's Reserve, hand-numbered, sourced direct at farm gate — because the shortest distance between a farmer and your cup is the only route worth taking.
